These are very nice looking wheels being hidden by those covers. Just need a black version of the Subaru center caps to finish them off.

It could be a while. As a possible approximation, I tried searching for wheels for 2022 RAV4 Prime (on discounttiredirect.com) and got this.

I actually don’t love the wheels on the Solterra. Would love to black them out or change them, but not willing to spend the $ to do it lol.

When they showed the Solterra STI concept at a Japan autoshow they essentially did that. Blacked out the OEM 20s. I wish this was production instead of the finishes they ended up choosing (minus the one red/pink insert obviously). But it will give you an idea of what it will look like if you black out the wheels. The little silver inserts on the OEM 20 probably plastic and unscrew from the back with a HEX key (my brother has OEM Audi SQ5 Wheels that have something similar). So those will most likely be relatively easy to change colour as a DIY project and might provide a different look to the wheel all together without them.

If I were to black out the entire wheel I would probably go with Satin/Matte Black for the Solterra instead of gloss black like the STI concept. Like the finish on the OEM Outback/Forester Wilderness wheels. With all the unpainted cladding, I think the Satin would look nicer than gloss imo.

Toyota's finish choice for the 20 is way nicer imo. They essentially picked black as the base colour instead of the gunmetal/grey that Subaru did. If I can find a Toyota owner in the future that wants to switch I will lol

You forgot, “just remove the wheel covers” if you have 18 inch wheels, which was the whole reason I started this thread. I knew they were doing something similar to the Prius and had decent looking wheels behind the wheel covers.

Not sure. But I’m sure you can find some Tesla Model 3/Y comparisons on YouTube to see how their aero covers affect their range. Probably give you and idea of the percentage hit anyway for a ball park figure. Only the 18s have aero covers. The 20s are legit wheels
