I have owned 4 Subaru's, all great cars, and still own a 2018 Crosstrek (best one yet). Was hoping maybe the Crosstrek could be replaced by the Solterra. But looks like will be keeping it for quite a while yet.

My other car is a 2019 Kona EV, owned since May/2019. A very good EV, better specs than the Solterra, except that it is not off road. It's a keeper.

Hoping for a "Tacoma Prime" to come along and replace the ancient Tacoma and the Legacy. An extended range Solterra could replace the Outback, as could any number of PHEV crossovers.

Driving a 2021 Outback XT Onyx Edition. Formerly drove a 2019 Forester, 2011 Outback, and 2009 Legacy. Loved them all. In hindsight, wish I had got the 3.0R or 3.6R respectively.

The Solterra would be potentially replacing my Outback XT. My wife has another brand’s 3-row SUV (Ascent wasn't out yet!), so that is our vacation car. Price of the Solterra will be a major influence on whether or not I go for it. I absolutely enjoy my XT but have long term environmental and operating cost goals in mind.

Currently, I have a 2002 Avalanche (70K miles), a 2007 PT Cruiser (60 K), and a 2020 Outback Ltd (20K) all bought new. My last three purchases have been Subarus, the initial BRZ, a 2017 Forester Touring, and the current Outback.Limited.

It appears the Solterra will have plenty of competition, but initially it will probably be a hot item. It weighs over two tons (4250 lbs) versus the Outback's 3600. Also, although the Solterra is six inches shorter, it has a longer wheelbase by four inches. It will be interesting to drive.

2002 Bug-Eyes WRX Wagon bought new in Nov of 01, never modded and now with a grand total of 73k miles (oh yeah, the “kids” really want to get their hands on this unmolested one haha) and a 2006 Tribeca also with low miles. We’ll be giving the Tribeca to the niece if we replace with the Solterra but you’ll have to pry my cold dead hands off the Rex. Love that car! This was taken just a few months ago. Everything is 100% original and the only things that are “broken” are the # two fan speed and the digital clock display. Oddly, I have not replaced one light bulb in or out on the entire car. Speaks well to the Subaru suppliers.

This doesn't have to be specifically about Subarus but what kinds of cars/trucks/SUVs are people currently driving? Also, will any of them be getting replaced for the Solterra?

For me, my wife and I have a 2016 Forester and a 2014 Impreza respectively. The Impreza will be getting replaced for the bZ4X.

If I go through with the purchase of the Solterra, I’d be replacing my 2019 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid. I owned 4 Subarus (1 Outback and 3 Imprezas) in a row before jumping to Hyundai because I was tired of Subaru’s lackluster hybrid output.

My wife is driving a 2019 Nissan Leaf as a daily driver. I'm driving a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder as a weekend driver.

We like the low energy cost and low maintenance of the Leaf. We don't like the lack of battery management (87% state of health after 2.5 years), the slow charging rate on road trips (never doing that again), lack of AWD, or the reduced range in the winter (1/3 less range) on the 40kwh Leaf. We will be replacing the Leaf with the Solterra.
