Hi y’all!

Just put a deposit on a Limited last weekend and its coming in this month from what I guess an order that was canceled Didn’t know too much about the Solterra but I’m a brand loyalist to both Subaru and Toyota. I’m in need of a new car as my son just crashed my 21 RAV4.

This will be my fourth Subaru and am considering leasing vs buying since this is a first generation and the mixed reviews I’m now reading from this forum and YouTube. I enjoyed the test drive and love how it looks. I work close to home so I think I won’t get too much anxiety with the mediocre mileage per charge. The color is Cosmic Grey Pearl ? and will somewhat match my Crosstrek in Cool Grey Khaki. I hope to enjoy it when I drive it off the lot.

Didn’t realize it’s not eligible for the FTC but been reading here some are getting a lease credit which is surprising. I hope to learn more

The past two weeks of posts on this forum will have a lot of answers to your questions, especially the past few days for the lease 7.5k credit and from a couple of owners in the past two weeks for what issues they had with their cars (mostly sub-par range and charging speeds).

I think most owners (reviewers who actually bought and are driving them) are quite happy with nearly everything but those two items, or the other items aren't so important that they regret the purchase.

All cars have some issues.

Mine, love it.

Works great since we don't road trip with it.

Solid, well built.

I want to second this statement as it's an excellent summary of how I feel about my Solterra. The car has it's quirks/downsides, but overall we are very happy with it, and it's a lot of fun to drive!

Welcome to the forum.
Did you check out any other vehicles before going with the Solterra?

Hey @daddyg70 welcome to the forum and congrats on putting a deposit on your Solterra! What convinced you to make the move to an EV?

Sorry to hear about your RAV4. Hopefully the crash wasn't too bad.
Thanks for the welcomes. This forum is a little more active than reddit and am absorbing as much info as I can from owner experiences. I'm sure this forum will grow throughout the year.

Crash was bad but son came out with only a gash on his left leg. Toyota (and Subaru) are pretty safe cars.

I'm happy to say that on the Subaru dealer website I saw they are offering $7500 lease credit and that seals the deal for me. Looking forward to getting it when it arrives and enjoying my Subaru #4

We leased a Limited in the same color in Feb. A kease gave us a part of the FTC $7500. The major reason for doing so is that we have the option to buy the car at lease end or walk away if newer models have improvement we want. We chose a 2-year lease and 10,000 miles annually because that gave us the best cost and 10k exceeds our current usage.

Take some of the savings and purchase an L2 EVSE "Charger" for your home if that is at all possible. Ours cost $1000 installed and qualifies for the 30% tax credit. If you are forced to use public charging stations someone else will have to explain the dynamics.

If you want to sustain the State of health of the battery the range of the car is ca. 116 miles (keeping within 20-80% battery SOC. We drive 144 mi. / week currently so that is easily done with our home L2 EVSE "Charger".

You will almost certainly love driving this car.

What is the 39% tax credit? I understood the Federal tax credit for EV infrastructure (charger and associated costs) is 30%.

I believe the "9" is probably a typo, you're correct @John Austin the current federal EVSE credit is 30%.
