Remember that a wall of water hitting it is like blunt force trauma.

Have you seen the BZforums thread about someone whose fender liner tore out when hitting some standing water?

I plan to drill the hole for mine for each side with the wheels off, just as soon as the mudguards and the darn jack arrive.

I spent my afternoon assembling and installing a floor to ceiling (Touring model, so it goes up to the bar between the front and rear portions of the fixed moonroof) pet barrier.

I also used the cardboard template I made a few days ago to cut a 36” x 51” (rough cut) piece of 3/8“ plywood to fit on the folded rear seats to extend the seatbacks over the passenger footwell and up to the pet barrier.

When my (delayed) adhesive comes in, I have two pieces of 5mm rubber that I will glue to each side of the plywood and trim to the same outline.

Then apply some heavy duty U channel edging to the whole thing to make it look like a factory piece.

I am also waiting on an All Weather Cargo Mat from the base trim Solterra (without subwoofer) which will be installed 180 degrees opposite the one in the cargo area and provide a place for sand and water to go when we go to the beach with the Corgis.

This was taken in the dark, so it‘s not a great picture. More when I finish the project.

Automotive tire Wood Rectangle Flooring Floor

The Activity Mount is backordered, too, which is what the Twistep mounts on and will swing underneath the car. It‘s the step for the Corgis to enter and exit the cargo area.

There are also door covers and seatbelt covers to keep them from damaging stuff in the back.

I’ll have a full list when everything is done, with better pictures.

Nice floor man. One could make the case that leaving the plug/screw out would make the inner fender safer, as the mudflap would rip off easier. I'll get to it in a while. ;)

The more expensive choice from WeathertTech (compared to the others).

Very nicely built, like you would expect from them. The less expensive ones seemed cheapy built.

Easy to assemble and install.

Easy to remove when carrying humans instead of dogs.

Recommended.

Goes right behind the front seats. Floor (floor mat) to ceiling (bar on models with moonroof).

The two horizontal bars were enough. Additional bars can be ordered.

I'll post some daytime pictures tomorrow.

I am still working on the basic project. Waiiting for a long delayed container of adhesive to glue real rubber mats to the plywood. It is stuck in the Amazon delivery network and I envision someone throwing a 9 pound box with a gallon of adhesive into the load area of a truck and having to clean it all up when it burst, due to poor packaging and poor handling.

Charged to 100% for trip this weekend. Took touring out of the garage, the guess-oh-meter said I have 218 miles available. Some hours later, guess-oh-meter said I have 227 miles available, WHAT! Then I took touring for a short trip around my community (going very slowly with 4 paddle set), when I got home the miles/kWh read 4.4 or 148 MPGe, WOW!

I admire your methodology and reporting. All of us can see similar data in our cars. n6nl gives great data but uses methods I would never try.

We plan on a trip this weekend in our limited. I was charging to full with my 32A charger but stopped charging at 89% due to leaving for work. The GOM was 260 miles. Driving in economy with no climate or heated anything, and s-pedal. Drove 30 miles to work and GOM came down to 224.

Is the thinking that 4 pedal works better than s-pedal? Does that mean more regeneration?

I was wondering what the most economical speed would be, all other things considered.

Also, I did see a picture someone took of their trip that had mi/KWh bit I haven't seen that, just the total amount (currently 3.0)

Today I did two things to my Solterra:
- Installed rubber floor mats (Subaru part #: PT9084223102). In Minnesota winters these are (almost) a must. I bought them from "subarudirectwholesale.com." There are many online sites with similar names but this place was the least expensive (and it's genuine Subaru parts). They communicated with me and had the best price ($130) which includes 2 mats in front and one large mat across the (flat) rear floor. As I was looking for options, I exited their site while leaving this item in my card. I came back and ordered it then later got an email from them telling me I'd left something in my cart and I could get a 5%, then a bit later 7%, discount if I wanted to order it. I wrote them to say I already had but perhaps I could still get the discount and when they order was finalized - I got an additional 7% off! If you live in places with snow these will protect your interior! To mu delight, they arrived today, the start of a major winter storm.

- Exploring the interior of my Solterra I removed the access to the tire inflator and flat repair goop and discovered a large storage area behind the access door. After using duct tape to cover sharp edges (learning from experience) I was able to easily tuck the Level 1 cable (wrapped in its original bubble wrap) into this space, freeing up more storage space under the rear cargo cover.

I am enjoying learning about my new electronic vehicle - I just wish I were younger and could remember more of it!

Looking at this site for all weather cargo tray. Their price is $50 less than from my dealer. Do they appear to be real OEM parts? Good quality?
