Here's my take. In terms of brand, I want something that is reliable now as well as 6 years from now. I am not going to go the Hyundai/Kia route as I just don't trust them. They are making better cars, but they also produced engines that routinely failed. I don't trust them to create a reliable long term EV. Specs are better, but they are a non starter for me. So are domestic vehicles, watched too many Ray Rainman videos where domestic car makers use cheap low cost parts. I trust Mazda, Subaru, Toyota, Honda and Consumer Reports agrees.
Cost vs the BZ4X? Seems the Limited AWD BZ4X is $48K. Maybe the Toyota has ventilated seats, but I don't see the BZ4X having many more features than the Solterra.
The Solterra is just about here, I have a reservation, and I trust Subaru and Toyota to make a quality product and stand behind it. I won't get sucked into the spec sheet comparison of a manufacturer that I wouldn't buy an ICE vehicle from, let alone an EV.
