When/where was that said by Subaru?I think the real takeaway there is that the red-hot demand for EV's caught Toyota flat-footed, and they realize that if they stick with their current slow and cautious EV strategy, they're going to go from one of the world's largest volu,e sellers to one of the smallest.
I think that's also why Subaru has announced their intention not only to bring Solterra manufacturing in-house, but also begin developing their own vehicles.
Check this link out…When/where was that said by Subaru?
Also if you're going to be late to the party for EVs, when you do show up, make sure your vehicle is 100% and doesn't have issues like wheels not fitting properly...I think the real takeaway there is that the red-hot demand for EV's caught Toyota flat-footed, and they realize that if they stick with their current slow and cautious EV strategy, they're going to go from one of the world's largest volu,e sellers to one of the smallest.

Oh common. This wheels falling off thing is getting ridiculous like Toyota just doesn’t care about this car. Companies like GM recalling the hummer EV for battery packs that aren’t sealed and can get water damage, that’s who people need to be making fun of.Also if you're going to be late to the party for EVs, when you do show up, make sure your vehicle is 100% and doesn't have issues like wheels not fitting properly...

I think the article linked by Feline Freddie pretty much answers that question. Although I hadn't seen that particular article, so it's been in several places.When/where was that said by Subaru?
They are talking about 2027+ models that are Subaru only, not Solterra. Did you see something saying that Solterra production will happen in Gunma or SIA?I think the article linked by Feline Freddie pretty much answers that question. They're talking about building their own production lines to build EV's. Yes, that's future vehicles, but nothing in that article, or any other one that I have seen, suggested it WON'T be Solterras either. They are talking about 2027+ models that are Subaru only, not Solterra. True. However, I doubt Subaru would build an e-TNGA platform car. They will develop their own. They're talking about building their own production lines to build EV's. Yes, that's future vehicles, but nothing in that article, or any other one that I have seen, suggested it WON'T be Solterras either.
Technically the SGP (Subaru global platform) was designed with future powertrains in mind (hybrid and BEV). However, in order to be truly cost competitive, I think Tesla has proved you need a dedicated EV platform. Not something that works for all situations.True. 100%. SGP isn’t the platform to be competitive. It is from an old way of thinking about BEVs. A ground up BEV skateboard platform will be key.Technically the SGP (Subaru global platform) was designed with future powertrains in mind (hybrid and BEV). key phrase - "considering"At the same time considering a new platform and major EV changes, they are considering ramping up (6 to 12x current) production of the bZ4X by 2025.
