Any suggestions how to get such a referral? We are not new to our dealer. This will be our 6th Subaru in a row from the same dealer.

I also had a Subaru Ambassador referral and there was a comment that there were additional savings to the warranty pricing by incorporating the Ambassador referral.
I will ask my friend how this works, and this is what I found onlineAny suggestions how to get such a referral? We are not new to our dealer. This will be our 6th Subaru in a row from the same dealer.
Thanks. I did find that too. It seems to tell us how to become one. I also found an "application form/questionnaire" that seems to lead to becoming an ambassador.I will ask my friend how this works, and this is what I found online

Wow...Holy Major Profit, Batman!I got the Subaru Gold Plus for $3795. My concern was also that this is the first year of this model with such extensive new electronics, that I decided the peace of mind was worth it. Perhaps I could have negotiated a lower price but I didn't do that.
My arithemetic says that $1448 is preferred to $5,482.00I suspect you won the low-price extended warranty at $1448. That’s a great price!
That is true, but the prices begin quoted for the Subaru Added Care Gold plans by some dealers are...insane.A little digging shows there are 2 kinds of extended warranty. The original question was about the Gold Plus Plan. There is also a Classic Plan. That difference may well be reflected in the different prices quoted.
How long do you intend to own/drive the vehicle? That's a big part of the extended service contract decision...I have a 7 year Subaru Gold ESC on my Ascent but I intend to drive and own it at least that long, and with the tech, the ESC was worthy insurance accordingly. And for the record, the 7/100/0 contract was under two grand in cost from the dealer I bought it from. With the delivery of our Solterra coming in the next day or so I am trying to be prepared. Are there any further thoughts on extended warranties? I suspect many of us wonder if some form of EQ is not rasonnable for a complately new machine. Yet, OTOH, one gets reports from owners of other EV's that these cars are largely maintenance-free. Recent comments on leasing have been very insightful for those still considering that option.

There's "maintenance", and then there's "repairs". Maintenance on EVs is much less than on ICEs, and I would probably never pay for a maintenance plan, even if it was an ICE (but wouldn't complain if it was included in the sticker price). As for EV repairs, that is an area of concern, and as @JIm_in_PA mentions, it really depends on how long you expect to own the vehicle. The powertrain warranty (in the US) is 60 months/60,000 miles ("basic" is 36/36,000).How long do you intend to own/drive the vehicle? Not a lot on brakes, at least not wearing out pads. On my old Prius, I went to 95K kms, and brakes were still good. And that was just a straight hybrid. But it did have regen.Yea, I don't do "maintenance" plans, either...a la carté for me because I follow the manufacturer schedule, not the dealer's inflated "give us more profit" schedule and I don't want to be locked into something. With the EV, as you note, JayEM, there's very little "maintenance" outside of tires and brakes.
Did the dealer break down a bunch of year/deductible options for you? That plan sounds reasonable. I was offered 8yr/100,000 miles (I think, and no deduftible?) for $4,200ish, and passed on it. I rarely buy extended warranties, but your pricing is making me re-think...I was offered the 7yr/$100 deductible Gold version for $2200. I waffled a bit, but then I opted to purchase it, based upon the many unknowns of an entirely new model first year production.
in this context, what is MSRP?8 year 80k and $100 deductible at $1448 looks like MSRP to me. Thts the same price I have here in writing.
