We picked up our Solterra yesterday morning. Our first EV and first of any kind of electric vehicle. We drove the car very little on day 1 -- short test drive at dealer, short drive home and short drive to local restaurant for dinner and home. Maybe 20 mi.

We requested that on delivery the battery be charged to 80% not the full amount of fuel our Subaru dealer normally procides with new cars. We obviously did not need a charge. But two factors encouraged me to charge anyway. The major reason is that I had never done it and, while having read the manual still wanted the real experience. We had a Grizzl-E EVSE installed in our garage in advance of the anticipated August 2022 delivery of the car. I had never tried charging with it. The second major reason is we have solapr panels on that same garage roof and I intend to charge as often as possible / as much as possible from our own generated electricity. As a retiree I can arrange that. The sun is shining today and we have produced already 25 kWh and consoumed only 18kWh which is rare for a winter day. I want to increase our consumption of produced kWh's vs. purchased kWh's.
I plugged in the EVSE and received all the hoped for indicators of successful charging. The Grizzl-E worked and was compatible with the Solterra's charger.

Almost immediately my wife came into the garage and informed me that her Solterra Connect app had informed her that our car was being charged and that it had an SOC of 79%. I was not surprised of the 79% amount. I was elated to hear the app reported to her an SOC as a %!

I remained in the garage the short time it took to get to the pre-set 80% max charge. Both the Grizzl-E and the charging port indicator light told me charging was complete. When I walked into the house my wife reported that her app told her charging was complete at 80%. I then asked her to look at the bar chart of SOC in the Solterra Connect app. It displayed 9 of 12 bars as charged. That is 75% -- suggesting the bar chart is only approximately accurate.

I am inclined to think the % reports from the Solterra Connect app are reasonably accurate and am very happy the app reports such data.

My experience echos yours. I also have the GRIZZL-E charger (smart version). So far, I’m very pleased with it, but I’d add a caveat… this EVSE probably isn’t the best choice for anyone wanting lots of charging data and stats, as it reports only the basic, need-to-know information in the app.
