Snapped an image of the Solterra charging next to a Model Y. was pleasantly surprised by how large the Solterra is. Photos on its own don’t really do it justice imo. Maybe it’s because it’s shaped like a smaller car, but in actuality it is quite large. Still loving it here in week 2.

Auckland to Wellington with 1 stop in Turangi - comfort stop by then anyway.

Will be doing AKL-WGN then South Island to Invercargill (east coast down west up) October / November 2023.

My guess is the "April" launch will be more like June / July

No - just going on 75% of advertised range

There is a demonstrator on tour right now (well show piece rather than get in and take a test drive).

It was on display at the Queenstown Marathon last month and is currently touring dealers in the South Island and will be in the North Island in January

Hi. We've got one on order in New Zealand. The big question we all have is: How's the real range???

We did a “long distance” test drive yesterday with the 2023 Solterra with the Odometer reading at 600 miles (966km). It was 55°F (12.8°C). We had the cabin temperature at 68°F (20°C) and everything set to ECO; the average speed was 70MPH (113kph) with two adult passengers. We only charge the car to 90%.

Our trip was to mark the halfway point and to familiarize ourselves with the navigation and charging. The halfway point (more like 45% point so I could make it home) for this trip was 62 miles (100km).

I’m sure I’m overlooking some variables. I’d provide the kWh, but I didn’t record them.

I’m planning to send out a post on the Solterra navigation system.
