I’m in the Canadian prairies. I placed an order when it first opened in Mar 22. The car arrived in Vancouver port in Jul 22, and we all know what happened. The car finally arrived in dealer Nov 22 and I got to sit in the car (wasn’t ready for test drive). Then other members started to take delivery, and my dealer states that they have trouble with software updates and cannot sell the car. They now have not updates on when the issue is going to resolved.
I know that at least one other vehicle was sold by another dealer but they claim has came back for fix as well.
I have also seen other Solterra arriving at the dealer.
Has any one from the Prairies experienced anything similar? Or am I getting run around because the car that was supposed to be mine was sold to a higher bidder who was willing to buy more addons?

Its quite possible they have bricked the car. So go have a look around, ask to see it, this is how you deal with stuff like this. At this point you have insinuated that they are liars and thieves without actually knowing.

Establishing a relationship with the dealer is a necessary step in the buying process. I got mine after making sure the dealer knew I was flexible on colour, and a couple of people, in the queue before me, did not have the money, after the guy who was next in line elected to wait for the colour he wanted. I paid my deposit at the beginning of March and was 32 in the queue at that point. So many people bailed, that I got one of the first 5 that our dealer received.

I have not accused them of anything. I’m simply listing some of the possibilities to explain the situation. Hence I’m curious if someone else in the region has similar experience. It could be that the weather here is so cold that DC fast charge is not possible without an update.

Its bricked and they are car dealers. They will need someone like me to fix it, as IT is not their strong suit. Ask them what Subaru has said about this. Then ask Subaru Canada what they are going to do about this. Either e-mail, or you can phone them. I will only do my updates from a USB drive in the car. ;)

There does appear to be problems getting cars in Canada. My sale manager has no March buy, and is upset by this as he has one car left. So just replacing it, may not be possible.

We bought our Solterra in Calgary two weeks ago. I really want to like it. But the fast charging issue (it will only draw 10-30kW at a Level 3 charger, should be drawing closer to 100) means that the car is restricted to a 150 km radius around our house before it has to come in for an overnight Level 2 charge. We have had to drive our gas Subaru several times because the real life range (up to 350 km from 100% to 0%) is too short to allow us to go somewhere further and come back without planning for a multi hour charge in the middle of the day. So if I were you I would not be in any rush to give your money to a dealer until this issue, which may or not be software, is sorted out. unless you are planning on only driving the vehicle to work and back, in which case it is perfectly adequate for the job.

Is this your first EV? This thread is actually about a specific problem the OP is having so may be less useful a thread, than some others.

I did the math long ago, and for my use the car is perfect. I have only used 120v level 1 charger for my needs and its working out almost exactly as I thought it would. If you think you can just fill up, like a gas car, then you have not understood how this works. Still the DC Fast Charger issue is a real problem for many and I hope they fix it soon, although I plan to never use one.

I have just purchased the Soterra and I am trying to return it - I can’t get rid of it
In Canada and maybe in America, there is a part of the sales agreement that prohibits you selling it to anyone but Subaru for the first year. I laughed out loud when I saw it, and my finance lady and I agreed that its the 'no flip' clause. ;)
