Regenerative braking and auto insurance discounts

I'm considering signing up for State Farm's 'Drive safe and save" program. They monitor your driving habits and reward you with a discount (or increase if you're a bad driver). I'm wondering if any here have experience with such a program. In particular, how does the highest level of regenerative braking impact your driving score. For me, the regenerative braking is 'a heavier foot' than how I would typically brake.

I had all my cars (kids included) in a research program USAA was doing that had a pretty decent discount for participating. It used an ODBII device that called in over the cell network occasionally, and was great because I could see the entire routes for all the cars including speed and the location if any hard acceleration or braking actives occurred (I had LOTS of hard acceleration events merging on the highway with my Outback 3.6).

That program ended a long time ago and their new program wants to use your phone, have their app running, precision location services enabled, and access to all sorts of other things that I don't recall at the moment, but I just said, "You don't need all that data, so I don't really care what your discount is, no thanks."

yeah I opted out of my insurer's offer. Driving with someone looking over your shoulder on every trip just seemed creepy. Seems like we're paying for privacy now.
I am using drive safe n save with State Farm. My experience is it is picky on corners and braking. I usually turn off the location settings or just do short city trips once a month to keep the app happy. Savings for me is 5% just for signing up so easy $20

do you know if the regenerative braking, at max level on solterra, trips the 'hard braking' switch for state farm?
I don’t think it matters. My wife is with me most of the time and dosent yell at stop light about it. I’ll look at the trips after word and like what the… hard corner there! Brake here. No-way. I hate that you get ding for other stupid stuff. Like if someone cut you off. I have tried certain locations in vehicle to see if that makes a difference too. Right now it’s on the back side of driver mirror.

If it works the same as on other vehicles, you can stop the car as slowly as you want by not fully releasing the accelerator pedal. Just feather it to slow down smoothly.

we are using drive safe&save now, or it is using us i suppose. it does make me drive much more cautiously, which is a good thing. keeping score above 95 so far with my wife and i in 2 cars.
