Hi :
I have noticed that when I preheat Solterra i arrive to a toasted car 🚙 and leave on for short time to save milesZ

If I dont preheat and start heater when driving it blows cold 🥶 air and take long to get warm.
Anyone else experience this ?

Heated seats and steering wheel a must because not practical run climate loose too many miles.

I'm too old to play games with the HVAC. I have it set to preheat to 68, front/rear defrost, and with heated seats and wheel (I manually remote start for this, not on a timer). When I'm driving, it's set to 68. My regular school year commute is 30 minutes/20 miles each way - this has worked quite well. I've managed on road trips (both of them, so far) without turning HVAC off.

I'll rearrange things when it's warmer out, of course. I may look into setting up an end of school day schedule in the fall when it's really hot.

I bought the car knowing it'd be occasionally inconvenient. I didn't buy it to be uncomfortable. Life is too short.

I agree but HVAC runs down battery 🔋 alot. I am driving at least 100 miles a day. I keep at 80 percent for long term. Its a challenge but ur points taken.

In my driving, 100 miles would be fine with HVAC from 80% SoC. Not sure what your drive is like.

Since the app update, I'm logging SoC, miles - both hw and local - driven (with HVAC on ;)), and ambient temp to see if there's a reliable formula for my driving habits. (As they say, YMMV.)

Wow… I thought my 60 mile per day round trip to the office was bad. Can’t imagine driving 100 miles a day.

With an EV with sufficient range (even during winter), and an employer that provides level-2 charging at work, that can be a sweet deal for an EV owner.
