Long story short, when I backed into the garage, I managed to destroy the cover on my right side mirror. Luckily, all sensors work fine. I was very happy when I found a similar part at Toyota/BZ4x:

However, when I tried to installed, it is not a perfect match - basically, there is not room for the blinker.

Does anyone know if there are any parts available for Solterra and how to get them? Or, alternatively, if there is a way find compatible parts from other car makers? I am a newbie at DIY and not sure where to start. The official Subaru parts has nothing for Solterra.

Cannot resist commenting. MANY years ago as a poor grad student in philosophy I had a a 1968 Volvo 122S. It was a magnificent car and I did a lot of DIY things (because I had to). Not just simple stuff but things like replacing the hood release vable with a completely home make cable with a wooden dowel handle under the dash. And I replaced the speedometer cable that plugged into the trasmission at one end. OK. In 1983 I bought a new VW Jetta. I remember openng the hood and looking inside. In fewer than 15 seconds I closed the hood understanding I could never do anything in that engine compartment. In the Volvo there was space to get my head and shoulders and both arms easily inside and move them. In the Jetta I could see no space for a single hand. It was clear to me I had to let a trained mechanic do everything to that Jetta.
Replacing a Solterra side mirror housing with all its flashing lights and folding closed is not a DIY task,
When you bought a Model T Ford the manual had instructions on how to pull the head and grind the valves. The Solterra has no valces and is no Model T.
Good luck with the mirror.

Hah, thanks for the comment! I went ahead and got it "almost 'right. I had to replace both the bottom cover as well as the top. It is now missing the blinker, as it would not fit anymore for the BZ4x part. Total cost about $180. The dealer quoted about $1,500 for parts only, so a win in my book.
