I live down a rutted gravel road and drive approximately a mile in the dirt daily. Every day my car is covered in dirt, even after it has been washed in a touchless car wash. I’ve installed mud flaps on all of my previous vehicles and am considering them for my Touring model.

Has anyone installed aftermarket mud flaps and what did you use?

I am certain Rally Amor will have a set of mudflaps within six months for consumers.

They're in the greater NYC region..... If anyone wants to reach out and see if they need a vehicle for test fitting. :parrot:

I ordered a set of factory (well, port-installed-option) mudflaps which I am still waiting on.

The rear ones do require the rear wheels to be removed to drill one hole for one of the mounting screws.

Which means you need the mudflaps and the jack kit. My jack kit arrived, but my mudflaps are backordered for a month, so far.

I think poodlemaster installed the same, but left out the screw which required the hole to be drilled.

I have ordered some from Amazon but they won’t arrive until Feb 28. Will post how they fit

To install correctly, the rear wheels do indeed need to be removed in order to drill a single 8mm hole, 1 for each side/guard. Perhaps you can find a shop with a lift that you can use to lift the vehicle instead of buying the Jack assembly.

The fronts can be installed by turning the front wheels in order to gain access to the mounting holes. No drilling needed on the front.

Thank you for the clear reply!! I do have a big jack in garage used for other cars, and looks like there is jack point at the rear to slide the jack in to lift it..... now I need the special wheel bolt wrench, to remove the wheels.....

Any specific instruction on that, I do plan on install mine since the dealership would charge $255 labor...... Do I need to order the jack kit? or I can just use another jack?
I’ve installed aftermarket on a Ford Escape I had several years back. No Jack needed. You simply put them in place and they either have screws or plastic push in connects that hold them in place. These look to be exactly the same type of install. Super easy.

Be careful removing the wheels and make sure you have a torque wrench and know the exact specifics you are supposed to tighten them to as that is the reason of so many of the recalls

The vehicle has 4 lift points located under the vehicle. Each one is marked by a small rectangle etched into the under-pan. The rectangles are approximately the size of the cross-section of a standard 2 x 4, and their locations are shown in the owner’s manual…although I forget which page that into is on…

There are actually 6 lift points. There are two more in the middle, front and back for a floor jack. I may just slide my 10 ton bottle jack under the back one to do the mudflap plugs, if I ever actually do anything about it. ;)

That is indeed correct. Forgot about the center mounts because I have my own 4-point electro-hydraulic lift in my shop that I use to lift vehicles for servicing.

The key point to is ensure you use one of the identified areas for lifting, instead of just placing the Jack in some random location…
