Hello,

Unfortunately, I missed out on the reservation opportunity a few months ago but was able to get on a dealer wait list. That being said, I can't see anything other than the public Solterra website, and I'm hoping to get some more information from those that have pre-ordered.

What colors were available?
What packages are available for each trim?
What accessories are available? Anything specific?

Thanks

Click on the "2023 Subaru Solterra Reservation Tracking List" at the top of the page and go to View Results. You can at least see the options that were available for reservations. Keep in mind, these are self-reported, so there may be errors. And Subaru may not allow all the same combinations when it comes time to place an order.

You can still see the trim levels and the included features at the original site: Introducing the all-new 2023 Subaru Solterra electric SUV. I don't know that there's ever been any more information about add-on packages or accessories.

I'm no Excel Master, but I did a quick pivottable to see all the different combinations. Remember, these were user-entered, so looks like there are data entry errors there, but you can get the gist of what was offered at that time.

Thanks. The two tone touring thing sounds fun, but I think I’d probably go for a Smoke Carbon with Black ST or a Galactic Black Limited if I could pick!

Interesting. In Canada we have three levels. Base, Tech and Luxury. I am on my dealer's list and hoping for a Red Tech one.
I was contacted by my dealer a while ago and the only color options available to me were carbon, white or black with no two tone options available for my dealership first order of 1 Solterra. I went with the tech package in Smoked Carbon. I do love the look of that red though!

We apparently have 26 coming. We have the Smoked Carbon, Galactic Black, Platinum White, Platinum white two-tone (Black roof), Element Red two-tone (Black roof) and Harbour mist grey, two-tone (Black roof), as our colour options. We will probably only get only 2 Base models, so the rest will be either Tech or Luxury.

Wow, that's great.

I am mostly curious about things like the Panoramic Glass Roof being available as an option on the Limited instead of having to grab the Touring trim.

It would also be great to request the smaller wheels for efficiency and more pothole resistance. I remember having some bad experiences with my 2009 Legacy since it had smaller profile sidewalls compared to my Outbacks.

Excited to see more information soon.

This one is very unlikely...Subaru doesn't offer that on other models, to the best of my knowledge. Folks have to swap out on their own post-purchase. THe same is true for most manufacturers, AFAIK.

Bob E, I was thinking the same thing. Since the overall diameter of the wheels usually stay the same when you plus size (rims get bigger, sidewall gets smaller), I truly think it is just the extra weight.

Tire diameter stays the same regardless of wheel size for the OEM specifications. 18" wheels may be lighter weight than 20" wheels in many cases and unsprung weight can affect "propulsion economy". (I almost wrote fuel economy... LOL )

Referencing a car like Tesla Model 3, there are gains between the Aero and Uberturbine rims.

The rims themselves weigh more compared to the tire itself. There are performance applications why you want larger rims (less flex of sidewall) but we are not talking about a Solterra STI Series.RA here for the Nurburgring. We are talking about a daily driver with a considerable amount of off-road utility compared to other EV’s in this segment and price point.

I would be curious to see if you could, in fact, swap to the smaller rims down the road. Sometimes Subaru puts larger brake pads on the rear axles so it could be a question of caliper clearances.

Living in Colorado, I will need a second set for snow tires anyway. Those can be on 18" rims. I imagine weekend warriors would have dedicated off-road rubber on small rims as well.

Would be nice to get the ventilated seats option on the Limited trim, to avoid the 120-150 lb panoramic roof.

I’m sure the ventilated seats are one of the reasons to upsell to the Touring.

In my youth, we had roll down windows, vinyl seats, no AC, and (in the '65 corvair) ventilation vents in the foot area. I wish that cars, in these chip shortage times, could have limited electronics. I've never had ventilated seats before.

One reason to downsell the Touring is the glass roof: if I can't open it for ventilation, it is just a magnet for hail.

Heavy, fragile and dysfunctional... and you have to pay extra for it!

A strange design choice, surpassed only by the idea of a rear window with no wiper. You're reduced to stepping out after driving through snowy/muddy conditions to wipe both rear window and camera.
