I love my Solterra but the key fob leaves much to be desired. Compared to my '19 Ascent's key fob the Solterra's feel cheap and plastic-y. What's worse, it's not reliable, sometimes taking multiple clicks of the buttons to work. Sometimes it works on the first try, but not consistently. My Ascent's key fob is super-reliable.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is the key fob more Toyota than Subaru?

What's your build date (pre- or post-shutdown)?

If pre, and the car sat for a while, it's possible the fob battery needs to be replaced.

To answer your question, it's a Toyota key fob. With a Subaru logo, like much of the rest of the car.

4/22, so pre-shutdown. Good suggestion to just do a simple battery swap - will give that a try.

It's def worth a try!

The battery should've lasted a lot longer than that, but who knows?

The trunk open option doesn't seem to work on at least one of mine, the lock/unlock/AC does though.
