The lack of a "pin pad" or equivalent is a huge reason I love my Ford. I use it regularly when out and about. If the mobile app really needs internet connection to unlock the car, this would be a life saver. Also useful if your phone battery dies.
I did not know about the "Subaru Pin Code Access" function on recent Subarus. I think it should be standard and marketed like the ford pin pads are. I'd even pay extra for the functionality -- and with the Subaru implementation it is only software so no reason not to.
Sadly I think this being a Toyota under the skin, I think we're going to miss out on this one. I didn't see it in the manual either.
