If we knew the evaluation criteria of "through an extensive vetting process" that the "invited jury" (which notably includes "celebrity auto expert Jay Leno", who is such a well known advocate for environmentally responsible products) uses for each evaluation, as well as the results, then maybe the transparency would be more revealing in a journalistic manner. For all we know, they could be vetted based on value of ads purchased.

It is so green that it can compact into a nice recyclable size...

For the longest time the original Wrangler was the most ecologically friendly vehicle made, when taking the source materials to recycling spent vehicles into consideration. I wonder if that type of evaluation has been done recently.

You'd be very surprised at what auto manufacturers destroy/throw away, especially in this "componentized" world we live in where everything is an assembly and the auto "manufacturers" build very little of the actual parts on a car. Imagine the whole front end of a car being delivered from a supplier and one item get upgraded, maybe a light fixture or housing, so they throw all the existing ones waiting to be assembled on new cars (maybe 10's, maybe 100's) in the trash with thousands of dollars worth of good parts attached to each one.

A perk of owning a green vehicle in Ontario Canada is that single occupants are permitted to use the HOV - High Occupancy Vehicle or diamond lanes on the QEW/400 series highways. Beware though that the municipal diamond lanes within the city of Toronto do not permit green vehicles during restricted hours.
