I am in Phoenix AZ and my dealer sent me VIN and expected delivery date around Christmas time.
Anybody got Solterra in AZ recently?

Still not sure if eligible for Federal tax credit or not.
That's great news! Which trim/color? When was your order placed?

I think the consensus on the FTC is "not", but we'll see what the IRS comes up with in final rules.

Of course, I'm not actually answering the question you asked, but I have NOT received anything from my dealer in AZ (Chandler Super Store). The online manager started a vacation a day before orders started, so my order was placed about 2 weeks after Subaru opened orders. Unfortunate, but it-is-what-it-is.

Which dealer did you get the VIN from?

Oh, an inquisitive person may ask why "Tucson John" would place his order in Chandler, AZ (a suburb of Phoenix about 100 miles north of Tucson, AZ)? I took a little too long placing my order with Tucson Subaru, hence I was not able to place my order with the closest dealer.

I reserved Solterra on Feb 8, 2022.
Dealer is Autonation Scottsdale.
Even if I have VIN and even if dealer has mentioned date of delivery on Christmas, I am little skeptical if I will get it.
Also, still not decided to buy or not considering FTC might not be claimable for this.

2023 Solterra Limited

Exterior Color Cosmic White Pearl

Interior Color Gray & Blue StarTex

I also have Nissan Ariya reservation (as soon as it was opened) and expecting it to be delivered in 2-3 months. So contemplating between Solterra and Ariya.
You HAVE covered all the bases.
When did the reservations open for the Ariya in the US? I don't believe we had a reservation system in Canada (like the Subaru).

I called my southern California dealer yesterday and they said they expect Solterras to arrive in two to three weeks. Another dealer in San Diego told me they are getting a demo on Dec. 29 but no one could buy or drive it and they expect ordered cars to arrive in January. I will believe it when I see it!

Sounds good, but the bit about "no one can ... drive" the demo car sounds a bit odd!

They probably have dealer staff lined up to have it nonstop for about a month to “learn what it’s like to live with it” before customers ask them embarrassing questions (they currently can’t answer).
Well, I predict many sales personnel will still be unable to answer those questions, even after have a month to “burn in” on the Solterra.

Visited my dealer today with my VIN (which was already on their records). GM said the status is “pending” with no ETA. Honestly not expecting it before end of year which works for me as I’m on vacation the last 2-3 weeks of December and not around to test drive and decline delivery lol.

If the sales personnel were serious about learning about their new product, it wouldn't take them a month and they wouldn't need to deny prospective customers the opportunity to test out their new product.

i drove the dealer’s demo car last Wednesday here in NJ. Very happy at the way it drove. The 360 camera, one pedal driving and the parking assist blew me away. Lot of room in the back and the trunk and similar feel as the Forester in terms of height. Unfortunately don't have VIN email yet though it says December still in the dealer’s site.

I can't wrap my head around who gets what and when. Still no word from my Western WA dealer.

Good to hear you like it!

If your dealer didn't yet have your VIN, it's pretty likely the car won't be arriving in December, especially given that you're on the east coast. I understand it normally takes around four weeks from the time the VIN is available until the car is delivered to the dealership - or longer if the car has to travel farther.

Also, the chances are your dealer will be the first to know your VIN.

Huh so my dealer told me about the December 10th delivery date (and had the VIN) on the 16th - I doubt the pipeline just dropsa message when it updates as well..From what you know is that delivery date meant to mean "Car is ready for customer to pick up" or "car dropped off at dealer"?
