Great news! I really hope Toyota puts effort in the ways of updating and improving the car via software (like Tesla). Just don't be like VW and completely drop the ball on software. Keep improving that charge curve since that is currently one of the biggest faults with the car.

Are they Panasonic across the board? At least the FWD US model would match then. Damnit!
The willingness to even talk about updating the charging curve is very encouraging. It means they are at least doing testing in this regard and finding better balance between their conservative protection of the battery health and the value customers place on convenience (speed of charging). One would hope there will be continual evaluation and modification of software charging curve across all battery configurations.

Yeah UK models are all Panasonic 71.4 kwh, so why is there an update for cold weather charging? I though it was affecting only CATL battery. Anyway it's propably some kind of battery preconditioning and should also help CATL batteries
OK. I had visions of a technician with a big box of 1s and 0s opening a little door somewhere and replacing them. Since software is by definition not a physical thing LOL.
