It will on the FOB battery. The car and the fob will continue to talk to each another and the fob battery will need to be replaced every 1-3 months.
It will on the FOB battery. The car and the fob will continue to talk to each another and the fob battery will need to be replaced every 1-3 months. If I leave the fob in the car when it is in the garage, will that have any negative impact on either the battery in the fob or the 12 volt battery?
Didn't know that. Is that true for all FOBs, any car?If you really want to be able to leave it in the car, you can put the fob to sleep by pressing the Unlock button twice while holding the Lock button. Pressing any button wakes it up again, so you'll have to either press a button or hold it to the start button to start the car up.
Not all cars. My Subaru Ascent works the same way. My Chevy Bolt EUV doesn't seem to have any way to put it to sleep. I've heard that some fobs will go to sleep if they're not moving, which also seems like a good idea to me.Didn't know that. Is that true for all FOBs, any car?

ETA: It's on page 183 in the Solterra manual. I don't have a Solterra, so I haven't confirmed that it works.
