I had ordered my activity mount from a Toyota dealer. It seems that Subaru marks the list price of Toyota parts up another 40% or so. But after seven weeks of backorder, enquiries were made and the selling Toyota parts dealer said that Toyota had failed to inform him that the part number had changed.
The description of the ”new” part number said bZ4X and ending with “Less”, possibly less mounting brackets and other parts of the kit. There was another item with the new number and “AA” at the end, which was marked as the hardware kit. But it said bZ4X also, and I think the plastic bumper cover is slightly different, maybe the bracket is, too. And the old part number also had an “AA” item which was a hardware kit. Not being comfortable with all of the machinations of how they were changing this, I sucked it up and ordered a Solterra kit with the Subaru part number from a Subaru parts dealer and it arrives Monday.
As soon as the weather is clear, I will install it.
I am looking forward to the Twistep again, instead of hauling the five up and down every day.
I also had ordered an additional all weather cargo mat through Toyota (for a Solterra), but after eight weeks, I cancelled that backorder and will just order one from my local dealer. Shipping is quite expensive because of the shape, if ordered for delivery.
When I get the whole project done I will post step-by-step pictures and provide a list of sources and part numbers for things like the door protectors, the rubber mats I glued to the plywood, etc. I hope that will be very soon. The new (partially completed) Corgi-mobile has been great!
