Add the Solterra to 2nd person's (my wife) Solterra Connect App

Hi all, I am registered as the Primary Driver in the car. So the car is showing up in my Solterra Connect App.
We added my wife's as a 2nd driver profile into the car.
But, how to add the car to her App, so that she can see/control it, or use the Digital Key function?

Hi All,

We just got our Solterra and tried to create profiles. My profile (Primary driver) creation went smoothly. Solterra Connect works as expected. However, I'm unable to create my wife's profile. I created a digital key and tried to share it with her so that she could use Solterra Connect too. Her Android phone received an SMS with the link, and she opened it with Solterra Connect. Then, the app sent an SMS asking her to reply with YES, which she did. However, the app briefly displayed a screen indicating that it would send a code to the phone number "(tr)u-e," and nothing happened after that. I suspect that this "(tr)u-e" is a bug. I'm stuck at this point. Is there any other way to create a profile? Otherwise, my wife will have to use the "1" or "2" buttons on the door to adjust her seat position. I also tried sharing it with my daughter (who has another Android phone), but it did not work. The same "(tr)u-e" phone number appeared.

Also, every time I have the digital key, the car tells me that a new key was detected, and I need to contact the dealer. It doesn't load my profile anymore, and I have to manually enable it and enter a six-digit pin, which is very annoying. I removed the digital key, and now the car automatically loads my profile, yet my wife still has to use "2" button to restore her seat position. What did I do wrong?
You might try this for her seat position: using her key alone (your key is not present), open the driver's door, get in, shut the door, turn the power switch to on and ensure the vehicle is in park, push her memory seat button so the seat goes to her position, press and hold her memory seat button then simultaneously press and hold the Door Lock button on the inside armrest of the driver's door until you hear a buzzer. A short buzzer indicates success but a 3 second buzzer means it didn't work.

I forgot to mention that she has to go to the driver's door first when unlocking the vehicle in order for her seat position to be recalled. If she starts at the hatch or the passenger door, it won't work.

Thanks, this worked, but the thing is we don't want to have a fob key for each of us. We would like to share one fob and keep the second in a safe place.
We do that for our Outback, where the car recognizes us by face and adjusts seats and mirrors. I tried again the digital key on Solterra, but the same issue is still present even after the last update.
I sent a bug report, we'll see if I get any reply or advice. For now, retrieving of seat positions by using "1" or "2" on the door seems to be working. We don't care too much on other preferences for a profile, and our height is not far from each other, so we are somewhat ok with the current setup.

i've been struggling in this area. so many attempts and swearing at the console, but i think i now have my phone (android) and my wife's phone (iPhone) being recognized to switch profiles. we also just want to use one of the FOBs and keep the backup safe somewhere.

when trying to add to a second phone it always wants to scan the QR code, which is nowhere to be found. i tried adding profile manually and came to some other dead end. once, i was given the option to login to a second profile on the center screen, but i didn't know my wife's password at the time. now, i can't figure out how to get back to that screen.

in some cases i know profile switching is successful when the 'guest profile loaded' message pops, and has another message hidden behind it asking if i want to switch to my profile (primary). i can click on it, even though it is not in the foreground, then it will require my PIN to switch to it and ask if I want to adjust seats. i do all of this before putting the car into drive.

i was not aware only one person could have the car registered in the app, that seems dumb. is it documented anywhere? i'll try the 'sharing the digital key' trick and see if my wife can lock/unlock, etc. after that.

thanks for everyone's input on this thread, it's been helpful.

Can we set up somewhere on this forum to crowdsource an FAQ? A step by step for creating/managing profiles would be a great first one!

I like the idea. Sometime I'm not sure where to look on the forum for past discussions that might cover something I'm interested in.

Is this forum hosted by Subaru, or is it community managed/moderated? I'm fairly new here and wondered about this in the past. Are there 'paid mods'?

Thanks for pointing that out, lol. In this case, who is your suggestion for an FAQ directed to? Who has the ability to set that up, or make the call that it's a good idea?

Is there a way to tag mods, or anything like that (and as I write this I suppose I should go read the initial introductory posts that I have not paid attention to)?

What if you both are in the car with your phones? Which phone has a priority?
Then, let's say you drive together, then you get off the car, and your wife starts driving. Would the car automatically switch profiles?
For us, a scenario as following:
I drive us together to my office. Then, I get off the car, and my wife drives to her work place. In the evening, she picks me up, and we switch roles (I drive, she relaxes :) )
Thanks, read it. Still, the process is far from ideal, and is almost unusable for drivers sharing the same key fob. So, we will be using buttons "1" and "2".

Outback, IMHO, has a much better option.
Either of us gets into the driver's seat. The car recognizes the face and restores settings. This works reliably in 95% of cases. If the car failed to recognize (haven't had this for a long time),
you simply open the door and then close it, and the car re-recognizes. You don't have to enter a PIN code, etc. - just get at the driver seat and the car greets YOU and performs adjustments. Usually takes 2-3s.
That is exactly why I started this thread
