Long story short, my partner really wanted an electric car for a long time. We were finally in a really good position financially afford a new car. Personally I don’t know much about electric cars. I just don’t care for them to know a lot.
So I started researching to learn. He really wanted a ionq5 but couldn’t find any good deals for them. And honestly I just don’t trust that brand of cars from being a mechanic in my younger days. We ended up test driving this car and he decided he wanted it and since it’s made by Toyota and Subaru I agreed, so we leased it for 3 years. He even takes the class to learn all the features.
Fast forward to a week later he finds the deal he’s been wanting for on the ioniq5. There’s one catch, for the deal to work I would have to sell my child, my Acura. I reluctantly sell it cause I know that was the car he really wanted and he has sacrificed so much for us to be where we are today.

So now I have 2024 Limited and I have almost no clue how to use all the features. Is there like a playlist on YouTube showing all the features and how to use them? The ioniq5 came with a QR code on the door that sends you to a playlist showing you how every feature works in the car.

Other than that I think the car itself is fine. Zippy enough for me and I kinda like not paying for fuel anymore as level 1 over nite charging seems to be more than enough for my daily drive. I do hate how there is no glove box though lol.

Hello and welcome!

The extra-deep center console instead of an actual glove box does take a little bit of getting used to, but all-in-all it's not that bad...would have been cool if they did both though...not sure why that needed to be "EV-different"...

There is a playlist of videos from Subaru about a bunch of the features...I think that it may also be a QR code within the owner guide library.

...or just do what I did and muck around with all of the buttons and things and then ask questions here for the stuff that I couldn't figure out...

Welcome to your inadvertent three-year Solterra adventure. Probably the biggest thing people new to EVs need to know is to put the car in Ready (drive) mode when you play with the settings and features. This is as opposed to putting the car in ACC (accessory) mode since doing so will quickly drain the 12V battery. When you are in Ready mode, you are using the large Traction battery and it will take tens of hours to drain it.

Being the Soterra/BZ4X/RZ450e has been on the market for almost two years now, you can certainly find almost anything you need via forum and online searches. But if you have any specific questions, this forum has a lot of great answers.
