Longer wheelbase than an Outback, does that mean it will/should drive smoother? And 8.3 ground clearance, that's excellent for this class of vehicle. Happy to see they didn't keep it low for efficiency. Staying true to their core values.

Longer wheelbases are a characteristic of e-skateboard platforms. The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a longer wheelbase than their large ICE SUV, the Palisade. It should result in a slightly smoother ride, but maybe longer turning radius.

I would have liked to see more clearance, 8.7", like the other Subaru SUVs. That at least would make it more desirable for the adventure off-road crowd. I fear there is too much Toyota in this Subaru.

Longer wheelbase on EVs is likely going to be common...it allows for more interior space without increasing the overall footprint. That's made possible by the reduction in space for the drivetrain as compared to an ICE or hybrid vehicle.

Yeah, I like the idea of that. Still waiting for someone (Subaru!) to launch an actual wagon-class EV. There's a reason I'm driving an Outback, instead of a CUV like Forester. That extra depth in the cargo hold is quite useful for my day-to-day, but not necessarily a deal breaker.

Don’t know if it will ever actually make it to the US in that form, but the VW Space Vizzion is the only one I’ve seen that you could call a wagon.

Unfortunately, that is the reality of the US market. People have associations for wagons the same way the would for minivans. Instead, people have chosen to drive more expensive crossover and full size SUV's that are also less efficient. From a business & marketing standpoint, I understand their decision and can't blame them (kind of like how manual transmissions are going extinct aside from some entry-level base trim cars or sports cars.)

I’m guessing Volvo will come out with an electric wagon at some point too, but we’ll see. Agreed that not enough people would instinctively think a wagon would work for them, regardless of whether or not it would.
