Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Our Solterra will be dormant and parked in the garage for two weeks while we are gone.
Any special things to do?
/not to do?

Thanks

I think there's a reason these started showing up as Subaru accessories

By the way, I'm not advocating the purchase of this specific item, there are much more capable products that cost the same or less.

Yep, that seems pretty common for the non-driving battery in some EV's. Seems like, currently, it's a good idea, for any EV owner for any brand that uses a similar setup.

That particular charger/maintainer is made by CTEK, and can be purchased for significantly less buying the CTEK branded one. They are excellent battery maintenance devices. I’ve been using them for well over 15 years on vehicles I own that sit idle for more than a week at the time, and as @jg stated, it’s a competitive market for these types of devices.

While a Solterra shouldn’t experience any significant 12 V battery degrading just sitting idle for 2 weeks, it certainly isn’t going to cause any harm by connection a battery maintenance device to the 12 V battery.

Personally, I suspect the advent and implementation of start/stop “technology” in newer Subarus is primarily why this product is being offered by Subaru, and has far less to do with the Solterra EV…
Thanks to everyone for the great information and resources. Much appreciated.
Be prepared for flat spots on all the tires sitting more then a week.
Inflate the tires to the maximum allowable on the sidewall, then remember to drop them back down when you want to drive it again.

ABC - always be charging...so leave it plugged in. My friend with a Tesla has done that for years during the 3 months she leaves in the winter.
