Some time ago I was trying to get manual for older Impreza (2008). Digital version if possible. No, only paper version and I was lucky and will have paper version for 2009 which should be same for our region. So it is not a "rule" for it to be online and free, probably...

Thank you. My thinking is that it should be good marketing as well as be a helpful source of answers for overloaded sales staff in some dealers. You can get EV manuals online for other manufacturers. And the lack of a manual invites questions of readiness for service.

I feel the same. I have car from different country, but should be same "production region" so manuals should be compatible.
Problem is I don't understand that language good enough for correct understanding so I tried to find it online in English. Only free version was from different "production region" and was missing several sections of manual, because that thing never got to that region. Ended in service to getting it, because I want to check some information and not be dependant on calling the service.
So also don't read manuals from other regions, it can (and probably will) contain different information

Why in heavens name can you not find any Solterra owners manual on the Subaru.ca website. Solterras are being delivered - evidently with owner's manuals? Why the secrets?
Yeah I am not sure why they havent posted yet. Subaru Canada site seems to be slow at getting updated. However, just go to Subaru.com and get it there. Its the same manual (it references both US and Canada in it).

Has anyone looked at, in depth, about acquiring a level 2 charger for home? Here in BC, there are a number of rebate eligible chargers on the BC Hydro website but 80 percent of level 2 chargers on sale in Amazon and elsewhere aren't on the BC HYDRO list...i already have 240v dryer outlet in my garage so I wouldn't mind a less complicated level 2 home charger. Any recommendations?

I got the Grizzl-E charger in my garage hooked up to a 240v outlet. A dryer outlet didn't work, I had to replace the outlet with a range outlet (NEMA 14-50) so the charger could plug into it. Seems to work great now and am waiting for the Fortis rebate now.

Grizzl-E is a popular name in chargers. Good choice.

Whoa that was quick. Yeah the dryer outlet was placed in my garage the when I had tesla and connecting the mobile charger was super easy. By that account I think it was nema 14 50 compatible. I heard good things about grizzl e l but it's just that I don't want to pay and buy something only to find its not working or isn't compatible

Anything that's not a Tesla EVSE is compatible. All non-Tesla cars use the same charging port (J1772).

I just hooked up a ChargePoint Home Flex unit, liking it a lot (will like it more when I finally get my Solterra).

Do you care to explain what you mean by Anything that's not a tesla evse. I remember vaguely having to ask an electrician to install a 240v J1772 outlet back in 2014.

Tesla uses a proprietary connector. All other EVs use the J1772 connector for AC/Level 2 ("L2") charging.

What the electrician would install, if you're going plug-in vs. hard-wired, is the NEMA 14-50 or NEMA 6-50 outlet (and the wiring to it + appropriate breaker) depending on whether the the EVSE ("charger") you buy needs a neutral (present on 14-50, absent on 6-50).

Makes perfect sense. I just looked at the invoice and all it says is he had installed 50A 240v. Perhaps I will take a few pictures when I get home

14-50 has 4 pins, 6-50 just 3. View attachment 1484
You guys and gals rock. Who needs subaru technicians when we have a team of in house experts! Thanks everyone. I think I'm pretty sure I have the nema 14 50 outlet. I now need to find a grizzl e charger on sale. Looking at YouTube I dont think it's too hard to install when I have the nema 14 50 outlet in my garage.

If you're reasonably handy and the outlet is already there, mounting it to the wall is the hardest part. My ChargePoint was super easy to install and activate. I imagine the Grizzl-E is too.
