My impression was of of solidity. Its a solid item and sits on the road really nicely. Now I'm coming from my BRZ, I did reach for a shift lever once, and we both, me and my minder, laughed. Handles like a solid car, it has authority and owns it's bit of the road. Did not really get to goose it, but it feels strong.

Its perfect actually for this old man. It will haul my crap, get water and go to the dump when I need it to. ;) It will visit my daughter and my granddaughter for way less money, and my low level charge at 120V 8A, will put that back overnight for around $3.50.

It will also go way up the mountain. I have been playing up there for many years and know my way around. I am really interested to see how it will handle, way over steep logging roads, they don't care, and build way past spec. The only worry I have is that its kinda long, and some long trucks have problems with the sharp little ditches, as they can high centre.

Good times, bought a bottle of Ardbeg Little Beastie to celebrate.

Been almost 6 weeks since I had been notified about the arrival of solterra landing at a local dealership...nothing na da still sitting there. I was hoping to get it before the year 2022 was up but now it seems unlikely

Not sure if everyone on this forum is in the “Subaru Solterra” group on Facebook. But this was shared today by an owner. Just gives some insight (even though not all details are known) regarding winter range with the CATL pack). This owner has winter tires (mandatory where they are). The range loss seems to be right in line with ID4s that also get around 70-80% of their rated range in winter depending on temps, conditions, tires, etc.
For reference, his speed ranged between 60-120kh/h for this he said (in comments). He has the Luxury trim.

Canadian peeps. I inquired with Julie Lychak (manager on the press release page for Subaru Canada). I was wondering if Subaru Canada would be announcing any type of free charging period with a partner here in Canada (like the Americans get) and also the confusion around winter wheels.

Her response:

"We have not announced a program similar to the US one mentioned. Customer care or your Subaru dealer is your best resource for your question on winter wheels"

It is a 120v level 1 charger and will run at 12 and 8 amps, depending on what the charger senses. So you can split one side off the dryer plug and get a solid 120v that the charger should see as 12 amp.

To use the 220v you have there, you need a level 2 charger, and that you have to acquire.

To use the 220v you have there, you need a level 2 charger, and that you have to acquire.
I don't think it can sense the capacity of the circuit it is on, but you can definitely set the limit in the car.

I would expect 12 and 8 amps at 120V. But the manual says 16 and 8. What does it say in the car?

Does anyone know what type of charging cable/adapter is included with the purchase of solterra? I do have a dryer outlet in my garage and would love to prepare or know in advance. Thanks everyone!
If you have a dryer outlet I would purchase a dedicated Level 2 EVSE for your garage. Consider the Grizzl-E. You can get it on amazon. Canadian company, made in Canada. Gets great reviews.

the Level 1 EVSE it comes with is not like a Tesla mobile connector where you can change adapters on the end and get higher amperage. The included one is simply designed for a standard 15A outlet and amperage.

Here it is in the manual, page 571. (Along with some other, related settings.) I like that they've got 16A, but 12A would be a nice option for people who only have access to a 15A circuit. (Current code in most of the U.S. requires 20A circuit to the garage, but many older homes probably only have 15A to run lights and the garage door opener.) Interesting that the default is MAX, which sounds like it will be limited by the EVSE. I think Chevy got this right on the Bolt, where the vehicle defaults to 8A and will only bump up to 12A if the user specifically makes the change. And, even then, it only stays at 12A for a while (maybe a month?) unless you've designated that location as your "Home". I think their system will result in fewer issues with tripped breakers and wires getting dangerously hot.

Thanks for sharing that information. That's what I will do when I get my hands on it. I was hoping it would be similar to tesla mobile charging cable which is level 2. All is good. I don't mind spending few hundred dollars for a quality level 2 charger or charging cable.

Nasty surprise talking to my Sales Manager today. Of the 24 cars we were told we would get, they have 4 and will not be able to order again til February. So we have been stiffed by Subaru, and I am considering my options. I am #10 on our list now, so as 4 are gone I will get one of the next 6 cars, and I imagine as more people understand the harsh reality I will move up on that list.

Very dissapointed in Subaru Canada.
